Downsizing? Let an Estate Sale Do the Heavy Lifting

You don't have to be gone to have an estate sale. If you're moving to a smaller place, a senior community, or out of state, we'll sell what you're not taking, right from your home. When it's done, the leftovers get hauled away.

Downsizing a house you've lived in for decades is hard, both physically and emotionally. My job is to make the part that comes after you've decided what to keep as easy as it can be.

How it works when you're still living there

  1. Decide what's going with you. Measure your new place. Floor plans help. Mark the things you're keeping or set them aside in one room.
  2. Walkthrough. We'll look at everything else and plan the sale around your moving date.
  3. Still living there? That's fine. We can hold the sale while you're still in the home. The one rule: you can't be at the house while our team is working or during the sale.
  4. We set up, price, advertise, and run the sale.
  5. Haul-away is included. We donate what we can, and whatever's left gets cleared out by Dunk The Junk, and we can arrange cleaning if you want it.

Tips for an easier downsize

  • Start with the rooms you use least: the garage, guest rooms, the attic.
  • Hand out family heirlooms now, while you can tell the stories that go with them.
  • Don't toss anything you're unsure about. Ask us first.
  • Keep important papers, medications, and valuables with you during the sale.

Moving into assisted living or memory care?

Families often have only a few weeks. Tell us your deadline on the first call. Setup takes at least three days and most sales run two to three days, so the sooner you call, the better.

Moving out of state?

We can sell the household contents after you've moved. We can do your walkthrough by video, pick up keys from a lockbox, and keep you updated by phone and email.
